ADULTERATED FOOD.
"NO MORE SERBOUS THING." 'SOLD ADULTERATED GLAXO. "To my mind there is no more serious thing than to sell bad food for the use of infants." Mr Laidlaw, S.M., made this comment at the Central Summons Court, Sydney, when imposing a fine of £2O upon Sydney Cohen, of the "Half-price House," George Street, for having sold adulterated Glaxo. Mr Allison, of the Board of Health, said that the food was found to be deteriorated—it was rancid.
Defendant said that he had only sold two tins.
Mr Laidlaw, in convicting defendant, said that it was a rather serious matter, for him.
Mr Allison also proceeded against N. v\. Jones, trading as the Natural Food Co., on an information alleging Hint he sold adulterated muscaiels. Mr Allison slated that he examined several cases of muscatels in defendant's shop, and found them to be fermented and "wecvlly."
Mr Laidlaw imposed a line of £ls, with 8s costs, in default three months' imprisonment.
