DISCOVERY IN A CAFE.

BROADSTAIRS WOMAN'S DEATH. (From a Correspondent.) LONDON, June 7. The body of Mrs Sonia Alexandria Ramsay, proprietress of "The Chinese Lantern," a cafe on the cliff edge at Broadstairs, overlooking the harbour, was found yesterday in a bedroom in the cafe. The body was fully dressed and a sheet was over the head. When the sheet was removed it was found that Mrs Ramsay had been killed by a severe blow on the forehead from a blunt instrument. Mrs Ramsay was 32 years old.and the wife of Mr David Ramsay, of Durlock, Lindenthorpc Road, Broadstairs. She was born in Calcutta and came to England at the age of five years. Her husband was a flying officer during the war and had a bad crash. His injuries necessitated the engagement of a male nurse, and a man named Robinson had been attending him in that capacity for.about four years. Robinson also had an interest in "The Chinese Lantern," which Mrs Ramsay opened about 18 months ago, and he lived on the cafe premises. . Mrs Heilgers, mother of Mrs Ramsay, yesterday said that her daughter left Durlock on Tuesday night, when it was understood that she was going to attend to customers at the cafe. As she did not return home Mrs Heilgers went to the cafe yesterday morning. She entered by the back way, which was open, but became alarmed when she found no sign of life in the lower part of the premises. She called Mr Charles Rudd, dairyman, who lives opposite, and he went upstairs and found the body of Mrs Ramsay. It is believed that death had occurred either late on Tuesday night or early yesterday morning. There were indications in the kitchen that two people had had a meal. In connection with the affair, the police have issued a description of Charles Robinson, a male nurse, age between 50 and 55 years. Robinson is said to be about sft lOin in height and to have sharp features, a sallow complexion, and a lined face. He usually walks with his hands in his ixoni, cls and. with a slight stoop.
