A message from Kansas City states that a fresh outbreak of floods heavily damaged sections of Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas wheat regions. Kansas Is the most heavily hit. The damage Is estimated already to have exceeded 200,000 » dollars. Production throughout ihe section has slackened by 25 per cent. Reapers have been forced to quit with the crops half gathered. The Cottonwood River Is steadily rising. Several towns hear Emporia have besn cut off, and flood warnings are widespread, as the smaller streams rise and threaten to inundate more fields and towns.

The lakes have Overflowed, causing heavy damage to summer cottages and homes. Tiny streams have assumed ml!e-\vlde proportions, covering hundreds of acres of farmlands, and some of the smaller towhs are isolated.
