ROWING.

FRANK HAGNEY. Frank Hagncy, who won the Thousand Dollars row in‘open skiff’s across the Catalina Channel, with Major Goodsell in second place, was a good sculler who gave promise of making a big name for himself at the game, lie took part in the "Wanganui Sculling Handicap held on January 10, 1910, and finished second in the final heat to Dick Arnst, who conceded Hagncy ten seconds start, W. Webb being third, off ton seconds. Hagncy was then by no means a polished sculler, in fact was very rough, but he was a fine waterman, and had strength and stamina enough io make a champion. He did not do so much at the game, however, as was expected, and later on went to America, where ho tried his hand at boxing as well as sculling, with fair success.
