There Avas a good attendance on the Recreation Grounds, Morrinsville, on Saturday to Avitness the practice matches between Morrinsville and Hamilton players. It w’as late before play began, but the time Avas quite long enough for the majority of the players, who began to tire very much toAvards the end of the game. The game betAveen Morrinsville and Hamilton Old Boys gave the selectors on both sides a capital opportunity of criticising the way in which the different players shaped, and will, no doubt, help them in making their selections for future teams. In the first tAvo quarters play Avas remarkably even, being vigorous on both sides, and the score 6 all. In the last two spells the Morrinsville men appeared to tire, and although the forwards held their oavii well the backs had lost a lot of their dash and the game ended 12 points to 6 in favour of Hamilton. In the junior match betAveen Hamilton and Morrinsville the home team Avas quite outclassed in e\ r ery Avay. The Hamilton men Avere bigger, faster, and better conditioned than the Morrinsvillc men, and had the best of the game from start to finish, xvinning by 25 points to 0. Plenty of enthusiasm is being taken in the game and although a i'eAV old players have fallen out there are plenty of neAv players coming on, and members seem confident that they will be able to make as good a slioav in their matches this year as they did* last.
