SQUATTER’S PLIGHT.

Swallowing a duck-bone, which lodged in his throat, a Balranald squatter was rushed to Melbourne in an aeroplane after an unsuccessful operation ta his home. Mr W. B. McCulloch is one of the best known squatters in Rivcrina. The bone lodged sideways in his throat. An operation was unsuccessful and necessitated a hurried removal. The aeroplane Lyre Bird was chartered, and after obtaining the assistance of a nurse, the patient was taken to Melbourne. lie was in a critical condition. A waiting ambulance met tho aeroplane on its arrival at Essendon, and Mr McCulloch was whisked away to Mount St. Evin’s Hospital, where he was operated on immediately.
