LAW SOCIETY’S ACTION.
SOLICITOR STRUCK OFF ROLL,
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday.
The Court of Appeal dealt with the cases of the Law Society v. Wilfred Alex. Black and John Munro Gillies. Mr Von Ilaast appeared for the Law Society, and Mr Perry for Black. Gillies was not represented. The case of Black was adjourned until March 23, pending the arrival of affidavits from Auckland. The facts alleged in the Gillies case were that he failed to keep his trust aocouit in order, and received altogether over £SOO for his own use, being trust moneys. In one instance Gillies took over work for one Berin from Irwin and Irwin, and collected £176 8s lid, which Benn instructed him to return to Irwin and Irwin. This was not done, though Gillies stated that ;he had done so.
Gillies was struck off the rolls of the Law Society, and ordered to pay £ls 15s Od costs.
