The Railway Department has purchased the properly owned by Sir Harold Beauchamp, at a price over £6OOO, for use as a hostel for cadets who come to Wellington headquarters for training. The purchase money will be devoted by Sir Harold Beauchamp to a fund for providing a national art gallery at Wellington.
