TEA CHAMPIONSHIP

OPENS IN AMERICA. Is America drinking more tea? A statistician in Europe thinks so, and credits ithis increase to prohibition. He says that if, a few years ago, representatives of various nations had attended a “ratio” tea party, the Englishman would have had to drink 1,800 cups, the American 400, 'the Russian 275. the German 36, the Austrian 20, the Frenchman IS and the Italian 1 cup. To-day the American would find himself called upon to make away with a great many more than 400 cups of tea at such a party. In fact, the present statictics fan believes that “if the Americans really gave their mind to it no doubt ‘they could become champion lea-drinkers" —.just as they have of late demonstrated a capacity for carrying off world championships of several sorts.
