The secretary of the Australian Workers’ Union, Mr Grajndler, says the Trades and Labour Council is only wasting time in endeavouring to have the appointment of Ihe Labour nominees to the delegation cancelled, lie says the union will send a delegate to America and will Lake no notice of any decision arrived at by the Trades and Labour Council.
DIRECT ACTION DEFEATED.
SETTLEMENT BY ARBITRATION
(Received January 22, 11.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 22.
The annual congress of the Australian Workers’ Union defeated a motion to have the policy of organisation changed from arbitration to direct action, in order to redress workers grievances. It was decided by an overwhelming majority to leave any disputes to be settled by the Arbitration Court.
