QUOTATIONS IN LONDON. LONDON, Jan. 20. Butter. —New Zealand, choicest 170 a to 1745, unsalted 182 s to 184 s; Australian, choicest 166 s to 170 s, unsalted 170 s to 1765; Danish, 1795. Although trade is quiet the undertone is strong in view of the quantity afloat from Australia, New Zealand and Argentina —420,750 boxes, compared, with 699,320 boxes a year ago.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd,, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 20th instant: — Butter. —'The market is very quiet. Enquiries limited to cheaper descriptions. New Zealand Dairy Board minimum price finest butter at 1745; first, 1725; Danish, 174 sto 1765; finest Australian salted, 166 s to 170 s; finest Australian, unsalted, 172 sto 17 is. Stocks accumulating, finest Australian and New Zealand.
Cheese. —The market is quiet. New Zealand Daffy Board minimum price, finest white, 945; first white, 935; coloured, finest, 955; first, 945. Canadian spot cheese, white 92s to 98s; coloured, 92s to 98s.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London House, under date 19th Inst:
Butter: New Zealand, controlled Quotations unchanged; very slow; 172 s to 174 s per cwt. Cheese: Market steady, quotations unchanged. Coloured, 94s 'rr’Tv/*'vt; white, 94s per cwt.
