strike, a London paper says:—For the future an immense step forward
would be taken if the workers would remember that capital is not their enemy but their ally. The destruction of capital by the shameless and savage methods which the Bolsheviks have practised may not perhaps be dreaded here. But there is risk that by silly and ruinous squabbles of the character of this coal stoppage such terrible loss may ba caused that much capital may be permanently destroyed. Let us, then, go forward determined to secure industrial peace by every possible means. We in this country are as capable, as energet ; e and as patriotic as the people of the United States. Why should we not adopt the American plan, which is that of cooperation between worker and capitalist, and of high wages earned economically by large output-.'
