ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
COLLISION AT NGARUAWAHIA. A CHILD INJURED. A collision between two motor cars occurred on the Great South Road, Ngaruawahia, on Saturday. Mr A. L. Watkinson, who had just picked up some children, was turning his car when it collided with another car. A wheel of the latter car collapsed and the vehicle overturned. One of the two children, two and a-half years of age, was cut about the forehead by glass and had to receive medical attention. WAIHI, Monday. The danger of venturing beyond the recognised limits when surf bathing was illustrated at the Waihi beach yesterday, when two young men, J. Keoghan, of Waihi, and A. Hargreaves, of Paeroa, got into difficulties and, together with another man who went to their assistance, were finally brought to shore in an exhausted condition. DUNEDIN, Monday., The body of Roy Simpson, aged 18 years, who was drowned when a yacht capsized near Broad Bay last Tuesday evening, was recovered yesterday near where the fatality occurred. WELLINGTON, Monday. The body of Miss Douglas, who was drowned in the Hutt River on Saturday, was recovered this morning. GISBOIINE, Tuesday. ' George Reeves, a labourer, was found dead this morning near Ilangaroa, some distance from Gisbornc. It is stated that deceased was acting queerly last night, and left the place where he was staying. A search party found his body this morning with a bullet wound in the head and a gun lying beside it.
