THEFTS BY EX-COUNCILLOR. DUNEDIN, Monday. Iu the Police Court Howard Bcecham Paltrick, for a period secretary of the Duncdin Stock Exchange, a member of the St. Kilda Borough Council, and a sharebrokcr, pleaded guilty to three charges of converting to his own use brewery debentures aggregating £678. He was committed for sentence.

One witness stated that he knew accused lost heavily in the flotation of a millinery company, and had had heavy hospital expenses.
