SEVERAL THEFTS COMMITTED. 'By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Monday. The adventures of a boy, aged 13 i years, who ran away from home recently, were related in the Children's Court on Saturday, vyhen be pleaded guilty to two charges of .unlawfully converting bicycles to his own use, three charges of stealing sums of money totalling £2 7s, charges of breaking and entering a shop at Hamilton and stealing £2 and cigarettes, and breaking and entering a shop at Ngaruawahia and stealing a bicycle. Detective-Sergeant O'Brien said the boy's parents were ver. respectable. He became afraid that lie would get into serious trouble for taking a bicycle and riding it, and he therefore ran away from home and went to Hamilton. It was while away from home and the control of his parents that bo committed the offences referred to in the charge.

Mr J. S. Cupit, juvenile probation officer, said the boy could not have a better home. Re had been punished severely by his father. "It started off as a piece of mischief,'' remarked the Magistrate, Mr Cutfen, who added that the boy could not be under better supervision than in his home. Upon the boy promising to be of good behaviour lie was discharged, aHer being ordered to make restitution of £:"> !)s.
