WEDDING.

harmen—Mcmullen. An exceedingly pretty wedding was solemnised by Rev. R. Morgan in the Gordonton Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, November 24, when Elsie, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. McMullen, was married to Mr Walter Harmen. . The church was prettily decorated by friends of tho bridal pair. The bride was attired in a charming dress of broclie satin marocain trimmed with chantilly lace. She wore an embroidered tulle veil with coronet of pearls and orange blossoms. and carried an exquisite bouquet of carnations, sweet peas and maidenhair ferns with streamers or bobe ribbon. The bridesmaids, Miss Dorrie McMullen, in cyclamen shade, and Miss Violet Morgan in Princess Mary blue, looked very dainty. Their d.-esses were of georgette prettily rucked and flounced, and trimmed with silver lace. They wore bandeaux of tulle Villi large rosettes on the left side, and carried beautifully shaded bouquets .with bebe ribbon streamers. Mamie Thomson, the tiny floworgirl. was dressed in a daintv pink georgette and silver lace frock, with hat to match. She carried a basket of pink llowcrs. Mr Harmen was attended by his brother, Mr E. Harmen, as licst man. and by Mr Edgar McMullen as groomsman. After the ceremony Mr and Mrs McMullen held a reception at their residence, where a hundred guests were entertained. Mrs McMullen received her guests in a saxe blue silk repp and cream georgette .ensemble suit, with hat to match. She carried a pretty posv. The tables were pleasingly prepared and the large marquee looked very inviting, decorated in shades of cyclamen, Princess Mary blue and pink. Over the heads of the bride and bridegroom hung a large bell of white roses from which the shaded streamers formed a canopy. The customary toasts were musically honoured. The couple left by motor for Hamilton, en route for Auckland, where the honeymoon is to be spent, the bride travelling in a navy and cinnamon ensemble suit, with hat to match. The gifts were numerous and costly, including many cheques, fin the evening Mr and Mrs McMullen entertained a large number of guests. The toast, "Future brides and bridegrooms," was responded to with musical honours. Cheers for Mr and Mrs McMullen and family brought a jolly evening to a close.
