GARIBALDI'S EXAMINATION A TRYING ORDEAL. BANISHMENT ANTICIPATED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) PARIS, Nov. 9. The ordeal of Bicciotti Garibaldi, whom the French police have detained in connection with the Pcrpignan plot, is being continued. He is being subjected to 18 hours of questioning everyday, and this has reduced him to a state of nervous prostration. Yesterday Garibaldi's wife was pcrmittof to sec him for the first time. She rushed sobbing to his arms, uttering cndearmenls in Italian. Garibaldi also wept. He begged his wife to speak in French in order' that the police, who were listening, might be able to understand what she was saying. It is expected that Garibaldi will be banished at the end of his examination. LATER. CURBING THE FASCISTS MUSSOLINI ISSUES ORDERS. OFFENDERS TO BE PUNISHED (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Signor Mussolini, having decided to stamp out the anti-French demonstrations, has circularised Italian newspapers requesting a more courteous tone towards France. He will send a Note to the Qua! d' Orsay signifying his resolve to punish those who in future atta'ck French consulates.
