The manager, Bank of Now Zealand, writing in reference lo the, loan of £IOOO for the purpose of assisting ■ratepayers to connect up, witli the sewerage system, informed Hie board Dial if would be necessary lo lake out 10 debentures of £IOO each as security lor Ihe loan. As the rcsoutions already passed by the board dealt with one debenture for £.IOOO, if would be necessary to rescind I hem and fresh ones would require lo lie moved.—The chairman gave notice of rescission as indicated by Ihe letter. Public Pound. The Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland, in reply to an enquiry by Ihe hoard for permission to dispose of ihe present pound site and purchase another.' wilh Ihe proceeds, informed Ihe board that he had received a report on Hie, mailer. Before making any recommendation he wished to know whether, in the. event of Ihe present site being disposed of, ihe board would be able lo find sufficient additional money to purchase a sile elsewhere. The Health Inspector, Rotorua, wrote pointing out the unsatisfactory sanitary arrangements at the Town Hall.—. Messrs Hawcs and Black were appointed a special committee lo deal with the question and lo submit a report on costs, etc., at the next meeting. In reply to an enquiry by the Glaxo Company, Pahncrslon North, on iho question of allocating rates between that company and the N.Z. Go-opera-tive Dairy Co., the clerk was instructed to supply the information required. The clerk reported on the relative cost of the concrete footpaths in Arawa Street and Tower Road. The figures read as follows:—Mr Swap's job (day labour), 5 J chains, total cost £222 9s Id. t'iu 9s per chain: Mi' Stockdalc's contract, 19 chains 53ft, total cost £617 Is 9d, £3l 12s Sd per chain. In Mr Swap's job Hie extra cost is accounted for by the large, amount of excavating which had lo be carried out. Accounts were passed for payment as follows: General account, £IOO3 Us 3d; sewerage (loan account), £IH ()s Id. Foreman's Report. Water supply: One new conned ion has been made and valve in Arawa Street repaired. Sewerage: Subsidences in the sewer line on Mr Pohlen's property are now lilled in. Hoacl works: Hinuera road has been scarified, shingled and rolled, and wilt be graded when the weather permits. The report was adopted.
