TE KAWA.
To Help the Children. A "Dr. Barnado" party, arranged by Mrs S. G. Broadbent for the children, was held at Te Kawa on. Saturday. The little crowd of children spent a . happy time opening their boxes and playing games. The sum of £5 was realised. Tea was provided, after which, several of ihe childien presented a fairy, playlet, those taking part being Peggy Edgecumbe, Mario Henderson, Alisfair, Fred and Isabel Lasky, and Marie Watson. A dialogue, "The Sick Doll," was given by Fred and Isabel Lasky. "Mrs Broadbent was assisted by Mr and Mrs Geo. Wilson, Mrs Scholes, Mrs Zein, McLean, and all should fc-cl gratified at Ihe success of their' undertaking. , Farewell. , Mr P. C. Neal was the recipient of a handsome travelling bag on Wedncs- ; day evening last, when a dance was : !eld in his honour. Mr IS'eal is leaving the dsilrict, having sold his farm. Mr J. Wallis made the presentation, and in a neat speech bade farewell to Sir Neal and wished him good luck in his new venture.
