The first trial to select Otago's contender for the next Sanders Cup races was sailed this afternoon in squally weather. G. Hunter’s Winifred, sailed by Kcllell, finishing alone over a nine-mile leeward and windward course. \ Eunice withdrew after the first round and Kia Ora lost fourteen minutes before starting out in chase of Winifred. Near the end of the second round, tiisls of wind and showers of rain came across the harbour and Kia Ora also will drew. Winifred continued and finished ilie course in two hours, four miiiuT.es, sailing Lime.
