GIRL BANDIT.
ARRESTED IN BED. "TIME OF HER LIFE." Sleeping with a revolver under her pillow, a IG-year-old girl was arrested in bed at Melbourne at 1 o'clock in the morning. The girl, who has an Eton crop, was described by the police as an excellent imitation of an ; American girl bandit. i She was staying at a house in Fitzroy when the nisht patrol made its raid.. At the time of arrest the girl was wearing a gold wristlet watch, and she took six rings from her fingers and handed them to the police, saying that she had had the greatest time of her life. In drawers of dressing table were found wristlet watches, expensive brooches, bangles, a fur coal, and other articles, valued at £l5O. They are believed to bo proceeds of robberies. The precocious girl resented the intrusion of the pairol, and censured them in no uncertain manner for disturbing her sleep. Detectives had been searching for her for four months, but she changed her lodging places with such rapidity that each time the police made a raid they found that she had departed. A watch was kept on the house, and the girl was seen lo enter at 11.30 p.m. The police waited until i a.m. lo make the raid. After being charged with larceny, the girl was first lodged at the Watch-house, but was taken later lo Ihe Children's Welfare Depot at Koyal Park.
