SEVERE WEATHER.
WAIPA IN FLOOD. HIGHEST FOR MANY YEARS. '• The Waipa River Is now in full flood, the highest it has been for very many years, and great inconvenience is being caused to settlers living along its banks The lower levels of the Waipa • Valley are under water and stock has been removed to safety:- on the higher country. Bruce's Bridge, on the Whatawhata-Karamu Road, is awash and communication is completely cut off. The settlers' cream is being carted via Te Awamutu. The ordinary mail communication has been held up and a boat is being used for it at the flood point referred to. AT MERCER. The road at Mercer was inundated during the week-end. .Several Hamilton motorists on their way to Auckland had an unpleasant experience. CYCLONE FORCASTED. A cyclonic storm is developing on the Tasman Sea, and will shortly result in stormy' weather, with heavy northerly to norlh-casterly gales, according to the weather forecast issued by Mr H. M. Vincent last evening. Heavy rain is expected to accompany the disturbance, resulting in flooded rivers, particularly in the northern and Waikato districts.
