At Philadelphia to-day, in an address at the Sesquicentcnnial Exposition, commemorating the cr.o hundred and fiftieth aniversary cf the Declaration of Independence, President Coolidge said: " We live in an aqe of scionco, and aro abounding in the accumulation of material things. Those did not croate our declaration; our declaration created thern. Things of the spirit come first. Unless wo cling to that all our material prosperity, overwhelming though it may appear, will turn to a barron sceptre in our grasp. If wo are to maintain the great heritage bequeathed us, wo must bs li!<e minded as our fathers who created it. We must not sink into pagan materialism."
