HAMILTON ORPHANS.
SATURDAY NIGHT’S SOCIAL. ENJOYABLE EVENING SPENT. That undcrc-urrent of goodfellowship which is one of the features of the Hamilton Orphans Club was not lacking on Saturday evening, when the Club held another of its enjoyable fortnightly socials. The evening was devoted t,o merry quips, jokes, orchestral items, and cheerful songs, the programme provided being a most enjoyable one., and every item being enthusiastically encored, in the unavoidable absence of Bro. E. M. Cowie, Bro. Sieve Wilson, who presided, made a most efficient chairman and kept all merry with his extensive repertoire of amusing stories. A bountiful supper was also served during the evening. Among l.lie visitors were a number of the Poverty Bay Association football representatives. Opportunity was also taken to farewell Bro. Jeff Stewart, who is leaving Hamilton for Wanganui. The musical programme was as follows: Orchestral selections, Stubb’s orchestra, Symphonic Six: songs, Messrs Outtrirn, R. Blackic, N. Cuming; violin duet, Messrs L. Scott and J. Dold; saxophone solo, Mr Cater; cornet solo, Mr Donovan; duct, Messrs Graham Young and Outtrirn; flute solo Mr London. Mr J. Battcrsby was the accompanist.
