MATAMATA'S PROGRESS.

TOWN BOARD AFFAIRS

Owing to the illness of Mr B. Blennerhassctt, town clerk, the special meeting of the Matamata Town Board to discuss Hi'' annual balance-sheet has hecn postponed. As soon as this meeting is over the estimates for the coming year will he framed. A large programme of works *> the amount of £O,OOO is lo he carried out very shortly, mostly on road ami footpath construction. The question of the Town Hall, has also lo be dealt with, und a scheme- for improving the accommodation, etc., will be brought forward. The coming year will be a busy one for' the board, and will mark an important stage iu the town's development and progress.
