MINISTER REFUSES TO RETRACT
The following rrply lias been rereived by Mr 11. 0. Browne, president of the New Zealand Natives' Association, from the .Minister of Lands, Hon, A. D. McLcod, in reply to a telegram sent by him calling upon (he Minister •win withdraw a. statement that unemployment was no worse than in the last two years, and that a political cry was being made out of it:—"Your Lelegrarn received. I sec no reason fur retracting statement made in Chrislchurch. Your own lelegrarn shows that the. first object of your association is to discredit the Government's immigration policy.—A. D. McLeod."
