THE GREATEST SHOW
GLOSSNG DAY
CROWDS STILL POUR IN
RECORD GATE RECEIPTS
To-dav, the closing day of Waikato’s Greatest' Winter Show, promises to create another record for attendance. The crowds commenced to roll in early, the bright crisp weather, which has a distinct holiday feeling in it, inducing thousands of country people to journey in. At the height of the afternoon the throng was again very dense, and in the more congested avenues moving was at times difficult. The amusement park, which has been one of the chief attractions of the Show, was again crowded with old and young, and while the weather has favoured the Show Association, it has also lined the pockets of many of the showmen, who have been reaping rich harvests of Waikato’s hard cash. The sporting element rises supreme in human nature, and the chance of winning a handsome box of chocolates or some other prize for the risk of a small piece of silver, cannot but prove a draw anywhere, and that it lias done so during Show Week a visit to the amusement arena at any time of the day or everting was ample proof.
