PROSECUTION IN WELLINGTON. ALLEGED GAME OF CHANCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The first prosecution in Wellington against proprietors of "RollDown” parlours was heard in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when Harold Percival Bishop and Alfred Dawson pleaded not guilty to using their premises as a common gaming house, and, alternatively, playing at a game of chance known as “Rolldown" in a a public place. The police stated that the evidence would show the profits to keepers was excessive, amounting lo 100 per cent. The game unnecessarily increased the gambling spirit. Balls were not true and tables were not level. The case is proceeding.
