WAIKATO WINTER SHOW.
4, OPENING CEREMONY. MRS COATES A VISITOR. Ideal weather greeted the opening of the Waikato Winter Show on Tuesday and probably accounled for the record attendance of the public. The coming of the Prime Minister and Mrs Coates, was, of course, the principal attraction of the day, and Hie ladies’ committee which entertained them at afternoon tea, was charmed with the graciousness of the latter. Dressed in a smart frock of binge cloth , with small hat to match, and a choker of grey fox, Mrs Coates chatted pleasantly to everyone on the platform, and many who met her for Iho first time were delighted at the inlercsl she displayed in everything around her. After Iho speeches, Mrs W. Wallace (wife of the president), presented Mrs Coates with a lovely bouquet of autumn-tinted Powers. A dainty tea was served by the ladies’ committee lo the guesls and officials before the Prime Minister and his lady were escorted around ttie Show by the president and Mrs Wallace. Among Hie ladies present at tho reception were: Mesdames W. Wallace, J. R. Fow, W. 11. Paul, F. Snell, T. Mitchell, 11. C. Ross, Barford, Finlayson, It. English, McConnell, T. Jolly, J. O'Grady, Then Mitchell, Montagu, A. W. Green. T. Richards (Cambridge), Carr-Rollctt, Alexander and Miss Entrican. ,
