FIRE AT PATETONGA.

HOUSE DESTROYED,

\ flve-roomed house belonging to Mr A. Caldwell, of Palelonga, was totally destroved by fire on Wednesday evening. Mr anil Mrs Caldwell were away at the Hamilton Phow, and were returning home when their car got stuck in a bog. They saw the fire in the distance, but wre not aware that it was their own bouse. The cause of the Are is unknown.

Mr 1,. Caldwell was the only person at borne at the time the lire occurred. There was a small insurance on the house, but none, on the furniture.
