YESTERDAY'S SITTING. MOTORISTS' OFFENCES. The Hamilton Magistrate's Court sat yesterday, Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., presiding. Mrs A. R. Taylor pleaddo guilty to I a charge of negligently driving a horse j and trap on the traffic bridge. It was j stated that she was proceeding in the I direction of Hamilton East,' and when | endeavouring to pass a slowly-moving j dray collided with a cyclist coming j from ihe opposite direction. She was j fined 20s and costs Us. A. McDonald was ordered to pay 7s j costs of each of two informations for ! leaving a car in Victoria Street longer j than 30 minutes. I Edward Hutchinson and Harold Edgar Harris, for leaving cars in VicI loria Street for a longer period than I 30 minutes, were each ordered to pay costs, amounting to 7s. | Stanley Ellis was fined 20s and costs ! 7s for driving a car without lights in Victoria Street. Arising out of a collision with a lorry in Victoria Street, Lawrence Rickey was charged with failing to keep a proper' lookout and also with negligently driving a motor-car. After hearing the evidence His Worship said . thai accidents through turning vehicles j would continue to happen until the traffic was prohibited from turning at places other than intersections. Both parties to the collision were to a certain extent to be blamed. He imposed !a line of 20s on the first charge, but I dismissed the second.

Keith Bowden pleaded not guilty to driving a car bearing demonstration numbers for other than demonstration purposes. He had had occasion, to repair a milking machine on a Sunday ami took the car out with the dual purpose of offering it for sale and attending lo the milking machine. After hearing evidence, Pis Worship said that Bowden had evidently not been very vigorous in the prosecution of his duties as a commission agent for the sale of the car and had apparently considered that business of such minor importance that he forgot to mention it to the police. J. Winter was ordered to pay £l3 18s and costs (21s) at the suit of T. J. Farrell, at the rate of £2 mnoth, in default seven days' imprisonment at Auckland. F. Loughlin was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment if he fails to pay £l4 12s Gd, judgment remaining duo lo Keeling and Mumby.
