MEETING MANY CLAIMS. THE GOVERNMENT PRAISED. i'By Telegraph —Press Asgo-iallon.l DUNEDIN, Monday. At the annual meeting of the Otago Patriotic Society Mr J. J. Clark, chairman of the Soldiers' Dependents Committee, drew attention to the"fact that eight years after the war's end they were nice ting as many claims as formerly, due to many breakdowns. On many occasions the society had criticised the Pensions Board, but Ihcre was no doubt that now pensions were given where at all possible, and many cases turned down ruthlessly in the past were now receiving good pensions. The society owed thanks to the Government.
