GUILTY OF FORGERY.
BANK LEDGER-KEEPER'S LAPSE.

A young ledger-keeper, recently employed by Mi.' Hank of .New Zealand at Papaktira, was arrested at Sydney and charged with forging a ehenuc for £l2O and drawing that sum from a depositor's acTOiinl.
Accused pleaded guilty. He said lie was a single man and received a salary of i: 17ii per annum. lie was in illhealth and wanted a drier climate, lie cashed the cheque, as lie had no oilier means.
Prisoner was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The Justices agreed to Urn request for Ilia suppression of the name.
