WOMEN'S CLUB FORMED

STRONG COMMITTEE ELECTED. PROMOTERS' HIGH IDEALS. The long talked of and much needed Women's Club appears at last to be an established fact. At a largely attended meeting of ladies held on Wednesday evening, it was decided to go on with the movement and the officers and committee were duly elected for dial purpose. Negotiations have been going on for a while between the Arts and Crafts' Society and the Bachelor Girls' Winter Club, and at Wednesday's rneeling both clubs signified their willingness to join forces. Suitable rooms have been secured and arc already in the hands of the bcautifiers, and the committee hopes to have the rooms in use before the Winter Show, when the country members may have the benefit of their comfort.

It was proposed that Lady Fcrgusson be asked to accept the position of Patroness and the following officers and committee were elected: — President, Mrs 11. Douglas; vicepresidents, Mcsdames M. Bell, E. T. Rogers, 11. T. Gillies and T. Piatt; secretary, Mrs (Capt.) Johnson; treasurer, Miss M. Wilkinson; committee, Mcsdames 11. J. Grccnsladc, E. 11. O'Meara, F. B. Jolly, W. 11. Hume, de la Marc, J. E. Page R. B. Cranwcll, W. J. Stevens, 11. J. McMullin, A. Ramsay, S. F. Pratt, V. Chilly, and Misses Drake, Cook and Lovell. Such a well-chosen body of officers should not only .be able lo successfully manage the club but keep it up to the standard of the high ideals of the promoters.
