AGRICULTURAL BANKS.
MR POLSON IN DENMARK. PROSECUTING INQUIRIES. NEWSPAPERS’ RESENTMENT. (Australian end N.Z. Cabin Assn.) (Received April 23, 9.20 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, April 22. Mr W. J. Poison, a member of the New Zealand delegation inquiring into the organisation of agricultural banks has arrived here. He was also studying farming and dairying conditions in Denmark. A statement which he made to the press to the effect that Denmark is New Zealand’s keenest competitor in the English but hinting that he had every hope of New Zealand gaining the upper hand, has provoked comment in the newspapers, which declare that the feeling is growing that Denmark’s hospitality and her pride in welcoming foreign delegations to study her farming methods is being abused, and that the disclosure of information to foreigners is not to her advantage.
