FAT STOCK SALES.
WESTFIELD MARKETS. (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., re-port.:—To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market we penned fat cattle to the number of 559 head, as compared with 688 last week, comprising 218 steers, 321 cows and heifers, and 10 bulls. The demand was sluggish, and although our quotations were the same generally, values were easier. Extra choice ox sold to £1 9s per 1001 b; choice and prime ox, £1 0s to £1 8s Od; ordinary and plain ox, £1 3s to £1 ss; prime young cow and heifer beef, £i Is to £1 ss; ordinary cow beef, 16s to 20s; rough beef, 10s to 15s; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £l2 10s to £l4 10s; heavy prime steers, £lO 15s to £l2 ss; lighter prime steers, £9 10s to £lO 12s 6d; light prime steers, £7 10s to £9 7s 6d; unfinished and small, £6 15s to £7 15s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £7 5s to £8 ss; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £6 to £7 2s (3d; lighter, £4 15s to £5 17s 6d; other killable cows, £3 15s to £4 12s 6d; bulls, £2 to £7; old and boner cows, £1 10s to £3 12s 6d. Fourteen extra prime heavy steers from Mr Ben Reed's station, Wacrenga, averaged £l3 lis 5d each.
