SYDNEY, March 17. ■U the conference of the Associated Chamber of Commerce a motion, expressing the opinion that the time had arrived when penny postage within the British Empire was advisable, met with considerable opposition, one member statins that they should not ask the Department to suffer further loss of revenue. It had already lost £1 000,000 yearly from the adoption of 'lid .postage. The motion woo ultimately withdrawn.
