EFFECT ON LABOUR MARKET. RUBBER PLANTER’S COMPLANT. (Reuter.) (Received March 16, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, March lb. In the House of Commons, in reply to questions. Mr L. C. M. S. Amery, Secretary of State for the Dominions, said lie had received representations to the effect that the demands for labour for the naval base at Singapore was depleting the supply for the rubber plantations, but the Governor assured him that the total requirements of ttie naval base would be insufficient lo have any marked effect on the labour situation in Malaya. The Government of Malaya was closely watching the situation with the local representative of the Admiralty.
