BEAUTIFUL HOUSE PULLED DOWN. Life is becoming harder, even for the rich; not even a millionaire can have all he wants in these days. Not many years ago Cornelius Vanderbilt, one of America’s richest men, built a very beautiful house in New York's Fifth Avenue; hut the site it was buijt on grew so valuable that in a very short time he found the tax upon it too heavy even for his long purse. So lie found a home elsewhere, and his house was pulled down. In its place the world’s tallest hotel has now been built, with 5G storeys.
