Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report, having received Hie following cablegram from (heir London house, dated the Olh insf,:— Wool Sales.—The sales opened active with good competition, and the attendance of buyers was large. There was a good average selection of wool. As compared with closing rales of last series: Merinos unchanged. crossbred unchanged, fine slipe wools Id to id lower, slipc wool medium and coarse unchanged. WELLINGTON, Thursday. '“Wool sales opened yesterday with large attendance of Home and Continental buyers. Good general competition. Compared with last closing rales, finest Merino par lo 5 per cent higher, medium unchanged, crossbred firm but unchanged; .171,000 bales available in series, of which 88,51)0 are Australian and 57,000 New Zealand.” JOHNSONVILLE SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., and Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale held oil ihe :10th inst. as follows:—An average yarding of sheep came forward and prices were on a par with late rales. A medium yarding of cattle came forward, comprising mostly heavy weight bullocks and prices were, if anything, slightly ahead of last week's quota!ions. A small yarding of vealers met with good competition. Prime wethers ranged from 30s down to 26s Gd, ewes 19s Cd to ids 3d, lambs 25s 6d to I7s; prime bullocks £l3 12s 6d lo £11; vealers £2 Is to 27s 6d.
