SUICIDE BY POISONING.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association. - ! AUCKLAND, Friday.

At the inquest, on Mrs Katherine Frances, 33 years of age, wife, of Arthur,Stuart McCulloch, licensee of the Hobson Hotel, evidence was given that deceased left her bedroom at 5.10 p.m. yesterday and told her husbartd, who was in the bar, that she had taken poison and asked him to send for a doctor. McCulloch obtained an emetic from a chemist's shop -and called. a doctor," who sent her to the hospital, where she died at 0.20 p.m.

McCulloch said that his wife asked him to get some stout, which he refused, When his wife said she had taken poison lie did not believe her, as she looked bright and commenced to smoke a cigarette.;'' When she persisted he sent for a doctor. There had not been any disagreements, except when she took liquor. The coroner returned a verdict of suicide while in a lit of temporary insanity.' At the inquest the Coroner, Mr J. W. Pointon, returned a verdict that deceased committed suicide by taking poison while in a fit of temporary insanity.
