PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS
END OF THE CONFERENCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Thursday. The conference of the New Zealand Society of Professional Musicians concluded to-day. The Wellington remit, "That steps' be taken to secure universal pitch in New Zealand," was discussed at length. A motion was carried recommending that' members, on return to their districts, should take steps to induce the adoption of universal pitch by holding, for instance, a series of concerts in aid of a set of instruments tuned to universal pitch.
It was decided that the next conference should be held in Wellington in 1927. Ghristchurch Was oited as the probable venue for the 1928 conference. It was resolved to send to the Minister of Education an expression of satisfaction at the appointment v of a director of a school of. music, which was Cnsidered a most important milestone in the history of music in the Dominion.
