FATAL ACCIDENT.

SMALL BOY KILLED.

RUN OVER BY DRAY.

A fatal accident occurred at Gordonton yesterday afternoon, when a child named John Wells Fow, aged 4J years, the son of Mr Arthur Leslie Fow, and grandson of Mr J. R. Fow, Mayor of Hamilton, and Mr A. W. Chapman, of Hamilton, was killed. The deceased was sitting in a horse dray on Mr Chapman's farm and when his father got off the dray to open a gate the horse took fright and bolted. The dijay struck.a gate post and was overturned. The boy was thrown under the dray and when removed in an unconscious condition he was found to have a fractured skull. Death was almost instantaneous.

An inquest was held in Hamilton last evening before the Coroner Mr Wyvern Wilson, and a verdict of death by misadventure through accidental causes was returned. , i
