STEAMER ON FIRE.

£60,000 CARGO ON BOARD. (

(Received 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, November 19.

A fire was discovered in thu steamer Clan Mackay which recently arrived from Tonga with a cargo containing copra, silver and copper valued at about £300,000 the bulk of which has been discharged, some £60,000 worth remaining on board when the vessel caught lire. Floats, tugs and fire engines are flooding the holds.
