HAMILTON MARKETS, FRUIT AND VEGETABLES. - American apples are being received at the Hamilaon markets in fair quantity, and are realising 20s to 22s 6d per case. The now season’s fruit is also ooming to hand, gooseberries realising 6d to 8d per lb; cherries (Hawke’s Bay), 2s to 2s 6d per lb; hothouse tomatoes, 6d to 2s per lb. Sturmer apples are selling up to 6s, Doughertys to 12s 6d, Delicious 16s. Vegetables are moving off slowly at late rates. Poultry. Small yardings of poultry were penned during the week. High prices were maintained, heavy roosters bringing from 4s to 6s 9d, light 2s 7d to (is lid; young hens 3s 7d to ss, old 2s 9d to 3s 3d; ducks, 2s 6d to 4s; hen and chickens averaged 20s.
