DESERVED NO SYMPATHY
“ A NOTORIOUS LIAR."
THREE MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday.
“You cannot believe a word he says, sir, accused is a notorious liar," said the Probation Officer, Mr W. J. Campbell, who was referring to one, Frederick Nicholas Lindblom (25) who was charged with failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his release on probation. Mr Campbell said that Lindblom was admitted to probation on January 21 last at Hamilton, and was ordered to make restitution. He had failed to report, himself as directed. Since admitted to probation he appeared in court charged with assaulting his wife and breach of probation. Lindblom had given the. probation authorities no end of trouble. "I am not discharged from the hospital vet,’’ said Lindblom. Chief Detective Cummings: “That’s quite wrong, sir. He ran away.” Mr Poynton told accused that probation was a great success. Evidently Lindblom did not appreciate it, and deserved no sympathy. He was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.
