CHILDREN’S FANCY DANCE

EVENING AT TE RAPA.

A very enjoyable children’s fancy dress dance was held in the Te Rapa Hall on Friday evening, 4th inst. Mrs Hall-Jones, of Hamilton, kindly consented to act as judge for the fancy dresses, and as over fifty children competed in costume, the task alloted was no enviable one. However, the awarding of the prizes gave complete satisfaction, the following being the results: —Prettiest dresses: Ruby Moore, Balloon Girl; Doris Holmes, Black and White Pierrette. Humorous pair in tiny tots: Phyllis and Winifred Barber, Bride and Bridegroom; Elsie Irvine and Joyce Gunter, Darby and Joan; Thelma Wise, Queen of Chile : Belly Minchin, News; Joyce Mag:.. . Bed Riding Hood; A. Schlenars, Golliwog; Cecil Young, Swagger; Harold Harwood, Santa Claus; Bruce' Holmes, Pierrott; R. and T. Moore, Jockeys; David Smith, Cowboy; Jack Rogerson, Jockey; Willie McDonald, Highlander. Amongst the ■■ other competitors were the following interesting costumes:— Esma Harwood, Rose; Betty Smith, Queen of Hearts; Hinemoa Hollard, Patchwork; Dawn Rogerson, Rainbow; Eva Smallfleld, Poppy; Kitty Templer,' Early Victorian; M.
