TRUCK DERAILED.

WORKMAN BADLY INJURED.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) THAMES, Tuesday.

Just after passing a bend in the K.r.urj Timber Company's log railway on Sunday afternoon a box truck containing a number of workmen and sightseers was jolted violently off the rails and crashed down a 20-foot bank into a swiftly-running stream.

One workman, A. J. Mo Duff, aged 4(5, was pinned under the truck, and was in danger of drowning, when a companion came to bis assistance and In Id bis head above water until he could be extricated from his painful position. Examination at the hospital disclosed a cut on the heart and injuries to the lower part of the back. the full ex ten I of which has not yet been ascertained.

All the other members of the party were more or less severely bruised.
