WORLD WIDE DEMAND.
STUDEBAKERS AND CITROENS. At the Motor Olympia this year the exhibit of Messrs .lames Tombs and Co., Ltd., stands out prominently, as lias always been the case in years gone by. Tin's season the firm is featuring, in addition lo Studebakers, the famous French product Cilroen cars. It will he remembered that some little time ago the Light Cilroen put. up a wonderful performance on consumption, doing 13.3 miles to one gallon of motor spirit. The Cilroen, built of the finest materials, is a sturdy job, suited for all classes of work, and there is no gainsaying the fact that this machine is a quality job. Quality in an automobile depends- on several things—correctness of design, the materials used, the skill and accuracy employed in fashioning materials into finished parts, and the fabricating of those paris into a complete motor-car. In each of these requirements Citroen cars maintain the highest standard. Service and economy have been the watchwords of the producers, and it is sale to predict that much more will lie heard of its excellent efficiency in the near future.
Coming to Iho Studebakers, which iiro, of course, in a different class, we can look back over seventy years and review the tremendous organisation which is at the back of Studobaker
products. Commencing in .1852, as manufacturers of waggons and carriages, the makers of these world-famed cars adopted a simple business policy —namely, to maintain the highest quality ami value in every vehicle manufactured. Though the design of the Studobaker has changed, acocrding lo the development of transportation, that simple business creed laid down by the founders has remained constant all through the years they have, been in the business. The ideals to-day inherited from seventy-two years of quality manufacture now guide the efforts of more than 25,000 Studobaker employees. The standard for materials and workmanship in their cars is scrupulously maintained by the constant vigil of the principals. The Studobaker is manufactured solely by the firm and thus economies are, gained by the elimination of partmakers' profits. When it is remembered that sixty-six countries purchase these machines every year, it must help to convince the prospective purchasers thai there is some vital reason for lids, and consequently should help them in their decision, which will no doubt lead them in the right direction to satisfaction. Messrs Tombs and Co., Ltd., have their Hamilton garage in Collingwood Street, where a competent staff of mechanics, especially trained to handle the firm's
agencies, is constantly employed. Here it will be found that the essence (if pood business is good service, and without file latter the motorist cannot depend upon justice being done to Ins requirements.
