Mr G. E. Martin, of Putaruru, has been appointed manager of the Pukekolie Times. Mr P. Iloneybun, of Havelock North, is a Ilawkc's Bay visitor to Hamilton. Among the guests at the Hamilton Hotel are Mr and .Mrs J. Taylor, of Matamata; and Mrs and Mrs R. Paykel, of Auckland. A Sydney message reports the death of Dr. John Brady Nash, a member of the Legislative Council and an eminent surgeon. Mr G. Gilmore Smith, Registrar of the Supreme Court at Masterton, lias received notice of his transfer to Invereargill. Guests at the Hamilton Hotel include Mr and Mrs J. Sewell, of Auckland; Messrs R. H. Phelan and .1. Stanton, of Bay of Plenty, and Mr ,1. Stanton, of Auckland.
On the Supreme Court opening ,at Gisborne yesterday the Law Society extended felicitations to Sir John Hosking on his birthday honour. His Honor briefly replied.
